Ahab of Israel on the Kurkh Monolith

1 Kings 16:29-30 says Ahab, son of Omri, reigned over Israel for twenty-two years. Shalmaneser III's Kurkh Monolith, a stela unearthed in 1861 and now in the British Museum, names "Ahab the Israelite" among the kings who fought the Assyrian king at Qarqar in 853 BC and credits him with the coalition's largest chariot force. It is the earliest known non-biblical attestation of an Israelite king by name.
